2015 Atlanta Reunion: Bifoba N.A. President ‘s Speech

Wahoo! It’s already a year from our last reunion at Memphis, it feels like yesterday, on that note I will like to welcome everyone to Atlanta, Georgia on behalf of Bifoba executives N.A chapter and members of the Atlanta region.

Atlanta, popularly known as the peach state is rich in various family friendly attractions such as Olympic park, Aquarium, CNN, upscale malls, Martin Luther king center and so much more. It is also the hub of one of the best airline in the world, Delta airline, a city with a lot of history. I encourage you to visit these attractions for memories and family bond time.

Our reunion theme this year is “Leaving a Good Legacy”, this denotes a lot of aspects in our daily activities; such as Religious/ Spiritual understanding, Finance, Health, Relationships and so much more. We are well equipped in-house and special speakers who will help us dive into these daily legacy while providing details where we need more information.

As a growing association, we have increased tremendously in membership in the last one year, while still hunting for more members; we are open to all positive membership drive suggestions and giving back to the success of our great school. The school is still in need of our financial support to help them produce our future leaders, “From whom much is given much is expected”.

Based on personal experience of report shown to me by the school during my visit this year, WAEC result have increased from 9% to about 49% showing a 40% increase. This increase was a result of new introduced curriculums such as farming, fishery and poultry, making school more interesting for student’s high attendance. This increase was accomplished with the help of hard work and commitment by the new principal Mr Adeosun and support of entire staff.

In Oct. 2014, Bifoba, North America chapter donated 1000 dictionaries/gazetteers to the junior school in honor of Late David Lowo which the students and teachers appreciated so much.

Our donation this year is leaning towards games and sporting equipments. Our funding is through auction and donation activity during our reunion dinner and we can’t do this without your help, so please come prepared to support financially.

In addition to the above goals, we also like to donate used books to the school library, so if you have fairly used books, please send it our way and we will ship as one body to the school. The blessing of God that blessed and added no sorrow shall be with you as you participate.

On behalf of the Bifoba N.A executive I will like to express our profound gratitude to the entire members of the chapter for their support so far in the last few years.

We continue to request your support in reaching out to your old school/classmates so that we can continue to expand the vision through more members. We are a body with vision while making use of every talent through more members to achieve our goals. As our school motto says “trained for duty and for thee”.

Thank you all. Up school!!!
